iPhone is much faster than Android

It is like comparing between apples and oranges… THEY ARE BOTH SMARTPHONES! These are the same bananas. So, if you are and Apple Fan boy, stop worshiping the iPhone, and if you are an Android user, stop being a hater!

As the title says above, the iPhone is really much faster than most android phones. I have noticed this because I have experienced both phones and with the android, it is horrible when it comes to lags. (sorry android fanboys)

No doubt that iPhone is much faster than Android phones

I have experienced an Android phone with a snapdragon 1gigahertz phone and still, it lags compare to iPhone. Even in text messaging, with just the wifi on, there is a lag time of 1-2 secs every time I type with the android phone. The iPhone 4 that my sister has continuously to impress me. There are no lag time in between apps selection and even text messaging.

But I still think iPhone is over rated! =)

It has been weeks since the launch of Iphone 4s. As usual, the best iphone yet continues to dominate the smartphone wars. If you check the top carriers in the United States, you will notice that the iphone 4s is still out of stock and won’t be be available 2 weeks after your purchase. Another tactic is to call the nearest Apple store and ask if there will be shipment at night and be available for tomorrow - If your local Apple store will have a shipment at night, your best chance is to line up one hour before (or earlier) infront of the store to get a stub. From there, you will wait until opening and submit the stub for you to get an Iphone 4s that day.

It is quite the obvious the the iphone 4s s selling like hot cakes nowadays, but heed these words - After a few more months, there will be an update making your iphone 4s a thing in the past.

THAT’S TECHNOLOGY!

We cannot do anything about it. So its either, wait for the next iphone or buy now and be part of the herd. No pun intended.

Despite the discontinuation and the startling HP TouchPad Fire Sale last week, it has been known that HP is creating more Touchpads for their customers. That sounded not right, does it? It has been told that HP just wanted to satisfy unfulfilled demand of the consumers.

WHAT?!?

So I made a few research and found some theories behind it. One qualified theory is that, HP does not want to cut off ties with its Asian suppliers/manufacturers. The sudden and “careless” sale of the touchpad would mean a good deal for consumers, but what about the companies behind the production? It’s like cutting off the projected production and HP would not want a conflict because of that. So this would lead to a slightly continuation of the production, just to breakeven or atleast make a profit for the manufacturers WHILST telling the consumers that customers are their biggest concerns.

Smart move.. but not that wise. (referring to the recent fire sale)

Just my opinion.

I know a friend who bought 4 Touchpad over the weekend.. Not one.. nor two, but FOUR! I asked him, what will he do with it, he just said that he will give it to his relatives as a gift. Which is not really a bad idea as a gift. IF you are living in a rock, you must have missed the news that HP discontinued the production of the touchpad together with its webOS. This brought about the demise of the HP version of a tablet.

Did the firesale really hurt the company?

Im guessing it did - a lot were happy about the sale, some got greedy but then again, the company’s reputation is in a state of shaky for its investors and critique consumers. from $500 dropped to $100? that is a lot coming from a great gadget/computer company.

What had happened?

Because of the firesale, the company’s website had intermittent connection, it had error 404’s and shipping/confirmation order failures. The customer support tried their best to accommodate all orders but still the volume is that huge, even combined call centers can’t manage orders.

The second wave - rumor has it that there will be a second wave of sale for the touchpad, So, better check slickdeals and your local electronic stores if you want to have one… or more.

It is not true that china is left behind with today’s technology. The sleeping giant is now among the world’s primary consumers of almost any products. From canned goods to the latest gadget, China is not just about Kung Fu anymore.

It has been in the news that Apple’s Steve Jobs has been meeting with China’s largest mobile carrier China Mobile to carry the former’s 3G capabilities. This may sound a bit iffy to the second largest mobile carrier who carries the smartphone, but with no contract with apple, this could definitely a down slope for them.

So why China Mobile?

It is reported that China Mobiles is considered as the largest mobile phone operator with more than 600 millions subscribers and they even boasts that it already has 7.44 million iPhone users on their network.

Imagine if Steve Jobs get a hold of this market - that is right.. PROFIT!

The iPhone 5 will be out this fall and reaching out to a more untapped sources of customers is not really a bad idea.

Game consoles and joysticks can be the new sex toy for women if this survey is anything to go by. No, it’s not what you think.

A survey commissioned by snack company Doritos claims that more and more women are enjoying online gaming more than having sex. The survey, which has more than 2,000 respondents, yielded surprising results to women’s attachment to gaming. Before, gaming is thought to be the domain strictly of men, especially pimply teenage geeks (or anything that matches that stereotype). But surprisingly, 49% of the women who took part in the survey claim to play online games, as compared to 50% of the guys.

According to games.on.net, “Online gaming in fact topped the most enjoyable list of things for women to do, beating out shopping (71%), having a bath (75%) and working out (62%). Nearly one in five female gamers at 17% admitted to playing online games in bed, and those women who do play online actually do so for longer each week than men, according to the survey results. What exactly is meant by “online gaming” is not specified, but considering a mere 50% of men in the survey answered that they like to play games online, the fact that women are right behind at 49% is still heartening and impressive.”

The research was conducted by Doritos before the launch of its Facebook game called Doritos Dip Desperado.

Jim Sterling from Destructoid.com jokingly commented that “This [survey] really just proves women are as capable of being slovenly nerds as men. Equality truly has taken a step forward this day, thanks to Doritos!”

As funny as it sounds, one is tempted to think of the possible reasons why this came to be. Could it be that the ladies are subconsciously associating the console joysticks to the flesh “joysticks” of their partners? Although the survey does not claim to be a scientific one, it could still signify the changing trends when it comes to gender stereotypes as far as gaming is concerned. And as for the better-than-sex part? Well, the guys better pray that this is not true. It’s one thing when your partner fights for the use of your game console; it’s another when she would rather fiddle on THAT joystick than fiddle with yours.

Casey Anthony may have already survived the jury with her acquittal, but the people who are against the verdict will not let her hear the end of it through the use of social media sites.

It’s obvious that the verdict regarding the murder case didn’t sit well for most people. You can only look at several Casey Anthony pages to know how much the public hate her. The pages are filled with criticisms regarding Anthony and the justice system. There are pages created to serve as memorial to Caylee Anthony, the daughter whom Casey was accused of having murdered.

Needless to say, the Facebook pages and other sites dedicated to the cause are as popular as hell, primarily because the pages allow people to vent out their outrage, shock, and disbelief over Anthony’s acquittal. According to Alicia Cardenas, a court-appointed advocate for children in Brownsville, Texas, “The level of emotions with this case is so high because it dealt with a child. People need to take action now.”

Some of the pages include “Where is Casey Anthony Today?” which garnered more than 500 likes, and “Black Ribbons for Caylee,” which got more than 1000 likes. The page “I Hate Casey Anthony” has more than 37,000 likes.

There are pages created to criticize the jurors of the case. One of them, called “The Jury Failed Caylee,” had almost 10,000 likes.

More than 1.1 million people have signed as a petition created at change.org. The petition called for the approval of what they dubbed as “Caylee’s Law,” which would make it a felony for people who fail to report a kid’s disappearance within 24 hours.

Casey Anthony was indicted with first degree murder when she failed to report that her daughter Caylee was missing. It was her grandmother who reported the girl missing, and the skeletal remains was found on December 2008 almost five months after the authorities were notified of the disappearance. Casey was acquitted from the murder charge and found guilty for four misdemeanor accounts. The case became a sensational hit in the U.S. and received enormous media attention.

The Galaxy S2 is Samsung’s latest success these days. According to the company, the unit sold three million pieces worldwide, which means that 50,000 are sold per day, or one per every 1.5 seconds. It was launched in Korea in April this year. According to English.chosun.com, “The Galaxy S2 has helped inflate Samsung’s share by emerging as the nation’s fastest-selling model, with 1.5 million handsets sold the first 52 days after it was released.”

Because of the sales of the Galaxy S2, Samsung reportedly ranked first when it comes to market share in Switzerland and the U.K. It gave the impression that the units were a huge hit in the global market, thanks to the improvements done on the functions of the S2.

But the reports failed to emphasize that half of gadget sales were in Korea, so this means that it is still not sure whether the phone can actually become a sensation on the global market. Domestic sales of the S2 make up half of the total sale of three million, which should not translate to global market success just yet. According to an executive from Samsung, the proportion of sales in Korea was very high since the phone was first released there.

“We expect the domestic sales proportion to dwindle over time while global sales will rise.” he added.

Industry insiders believe that the company stands to gain more profit if the Galaxy S2 is sold in Korea rather than in other countries.

It won’t fare so much in the U.S., or at least not so quickly. The release of the S2 in the U.S. is almost two and a half months after Korea, which is more like the Galaxy S, which was launched in the U.S. one month after the Korean release. The executive said that the negotiations with the American telecom companies have dragged on.

Americans telecoms are not that hot for the Galaxy S2, mainly because another company, Motorola, produces phones that work best with CDMA.

The Galaxy S did well last year because there was no competition from HTC and Motorola during the time of its release. The Galaxy S became the only alternative to those who don’t want to shell out for the iPhone.

Aside from the tools for social tracking, the social media giant also added Audience and Activity reports, which provide the geographic and demographic data of +1 users and the number of clicks garnered by the +1 button.

According to Schramko, the trial launch of +1 was a great success and that many think it has what it takes to beat Facebook as the largest social media website in the world. While the new Analytics tool was created to keep track of the performance of Google+ against Twitter and Facebook, it has other practical uses such as link baiting.

“Link baiting for example, is a powerful SEO practice, which can bring in lots of organic traffic through social media which then gets shared using the social media buttons, though of course you’ll need some really interesting content to pull that off successfully. The new analytics tools will show us the social impact of our content campaigns.
